The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers
(South Australian Chapter)
In collaboration with IFE, IHEA, IPEA and AMCA as Joint Associations and Institutes invite you to attend a presentation on:
Essential Safety Provisions – the New PDI Regulations 2019
& FPAA Sprinkler Systems – BCA 2019
Are you aware of the updated requirements for Essential Safety Provisions (ESP’s) under the introduction of the new Planning Development & Infrastructure (PDI) Act 2016/Regulations 2019 and the new fire sprinkler systems prescribed within the NCC Volume 1 BCA 2019 edition?
David will outline the updated ESP provisions relevant to development initiation, installation and maintenance certification. These revisions will affect the responsibility of all building industry stakeholders with the involvement of the relevant authority, building work contractors, construction managers, engineering services installers/maintenance providers and building owners. This Regulation is legislated now for some new development, being phased in over the year for final adoption on 1 July 2020.
Nages, in her current role as a Senior Fire Safety Engineer of the Community Safety & Resilience Department of the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (SAMFS), will provide the background in the development of the two new sprinkler systems listed as FPAA 101H & D, together with their alternate system design parameters, testing /performance verification and maintenance requirements.
