Joining new members to our Victorian Committee of Management is always an exciting time! Each addition brings fresh ideas and insights, which help us further our mission. We are thrilled to introduce Pablo Perez-Reigosa as the latest member of our CoM team.
Biography
Pablo Perez-Reigosa is a dedicated Mechanical Engineer who graduated from Monash University. He specializes in hospital building services and holds two master's degrees—one in air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating, and another in reliability engineering.
Pablo's engineering journey began as a Project Engineer. In this role, he gained practical experience that allowed him to develop his innovative thinking, reliability analysis, and problem-solving skills. He has worked on multiple successful projects across government, healthcare, and industrial sectors, covering areas such as:
Healthcare Infrastructure: Pablo's contributions include optimizing airflow systems in hospitals, improving energy efficiency, and extending equipment lifespans through better monitoring protocols.
Government Projects: He helped streamline operations for public services, working on systems that reduced operational costs while improving service delivery.
Currently, Pablo is with Austin Health Facility Management, where he plays a crucial role in enhancing healthcare environments. His focus encompasses both operational efficiency and the quality of services that healthcare facilities deliver to patients and staff.
Areas of Interest
Pablo’s interests merge technology and engineering, especially in innovative solutions for managing healthcare assets. His key areas of focus include:
New Predictive Asset Condition Technologies: He is exploring tools that assess the condition of critical infrastructure assets like main switchboards, sterilizers, and medical air compressors. For instance, implementing predictive maintenance can lead to a 30% reduction in unexpected failures, which can significantly enhance patient safety.
AI Potential for Monitoring Asset Conditions: Pablo is fascinated by how artificial intelligence can monitor asset conditions in real-time. This approach can help identify issues before they become major problems, improving response times and facility safety.
Case Studies in AI for Hospital Engineering Asset Management: He is keen to examine successful AI implementations in healthcare both in Australia and globally. Lessons from these case studies can lead to more effective practices in local settings, improving asset reliability.
With his strong expertise and vision, Pablo is poised to make meaningful contributions to the Victorian Committee of the Institute of Healthcare Engineers.
We encourage anyone with experience in these areas to get involved as well. If you have insights to share or wish to present to the Victorian Branch of IHEA, we’d love to hear from you. We are particularly interested in organizing site visits, professional development sessions, and engaging discussions to promote knowledge-sharing.
